Bosnia arrests would-be bombers SARAJEVO, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Bosnia announced Monday the arrest of three men accused of plotting a suicide bombing attack in Sarajevo. Two of the men hold Swedish and Turkish citizenship but are believed to have originally come from the former Yugoslavia, and the third is Bosnian, the BBC said. One of them is said to have recorded a video reciting Islamic prayers which is believed to have been prepared for release after his death. Officials did not indicate what the planned target was, although embassies and foreign aid agencies remained on high alert Monday, the report said. There are 7,000 European Union peacekeepers stationed in Bosnia. Copyright 2005 by United Press International. |
